hen the Bhagavad Gita was propounded, the world was in a
Wsituation almost comparable to what we are experiencing
now. Materialism, respect for money, position, and status have
become paramount. Moral values, ethical principles, culture, and
civilization are being sacrificed at the altar of wealth and power.
Living Philosophy
This was the exact social situation at a time in Indian history
when the old philosophical, spiritual, and cultural values were all
broken down. They were questioned, discussed, and abandoned.
Most of the population took to the path of mere materialism
and sensuality. We are almost reliving that historical era.

The philosophical thoughts, conclusions, and truths arrived
at through contemplation by the subjective scientists, the
philosophers – are eternal. They are never to be denied or
contradicted. Like gravitational force or the scientific laws of the
