However, since there are no indications of Hanumanji, researchers
reached this erroneous conclusion.
The Puranas, elaborations of Vedic mantras help us unravel
the subtleties of the words. If we take a different approach, we
discover that Hanumanji is mentioned as Väyu Putra. The Vedas
point out: From space is created väyu; from väyu is formed agni ….
If väyu is the cause and agni the effect, then väyu is the father, and agni
becomes the son. Therefore, in the Vedas, Hanumanji represents fire.
A Dynamic Disposition
‘He is on fire’ is an expression used to describe someone working
with great inspiration. Without fire, no heat, energy, dynamism,
or brilliance exists. In the following çloka, we see Hanumanji – truly
on fire.

I bow with folded hands, in awe and reverence, to the son of
Anjana, who leaped over the ocean as if in play, took the fire of
grief consuming Janaka’s daughter, and used that fire to burn Lanka
itself.
There is also recognition of this monumental feat in the Hanuman
Chalisa:
yuga sahasra yojana para bhänü lélyo tähi madhura phala jänü.
