By offering everything to the Lord and accepting all
circumstances as His prasäda (blessings), one cultivates surrender
and leads a more carefree and peaceful life. This is the essence of
Siva Linga worship.
Act of Offering Milk

All of us celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries of our loved
ones. On their special days, we express our love by offering our
best gifts. The simple principle behind this is that love grows only
when it is expressed.
When a sincere seeker realizes that everything in life is
accomplished through the grace of the Lord, gradually, a deep
desire arises to express gratitude to the divine source of inspiration.
This longing manifests as a wish to worship the Lord, touch
the Divine, and offer whatever one possesses as a token of love.
Acts like offering milk to Lord Siva, tulasé to Lord Vishnu, or
dürvä to Lord Ganesha are simple gestures of thanksgiving. They
acknowledge the Lord’s unconditional love and nurturing presence
in our lives.
