In the Dhyana Yoga chapter of the Gita, Bhagavan says that
the true meditator is one who is neither attached to sense objects
nor to actions, since he has renounced all desires for the fruits
of actions. So, continue to do good work, but as worship of the Lord.

And since you have a püjä room at home, at this stage of life,
there should be no excuse for not spending at least 15–20 minutes
a day in it. When a royal guest visits, you make time to receive
them – should the Lord be given any less?
Remember, sädhanä is not for God’s benefit. It is to quieten
and purify our own minds. Püjä, too, is intended to cultivate
a meditative mind. Now, in the altar room, if you are meditating,
then you don’t need to do external rituals.
Meditating is the higher level, right?
Yes. But if you are not yet meditating, then you must do
püjä – because püjä prepares the mind and leads you towards
meditation.
Many people say, “Meditation is essential,” but it may not
be practical for everyone at this time. So, if you cannot sit for
meditation, then ensure that you serve society as a form of
worship to the Lord.
And when you have an altar at home, it means you have
invited God into your house. Of course, He is everywhere, but
