– reveals that there is only one indivisible Truth. This Truth is
        the essence of everything and everyone – the Self, the Ätmä, pure
        Existence-Consciousness-Bliss. Yet, entangled with the body,
        emotional mind, and logical intellect, we identify with this
        limited individuality – and experience life’s joys and sorrows.
          After understanding and reflecting on this knowledge, the
        great Masters recommend that we abide in our true Nature,
        free from the distractions of the mind. They guide us into
        meditation or contemplation to return the mind to its natural state
        of peace and bliss. This involves withdrawing it from its habitual
        external preoccupations by keeping the body steady and relaxed;
        when the body is still, the mind follows. In this state, the mind
        lets go of thoughts of objects and turns inward towards the Self –
        where only pure Consciousness remains: I am.
          Different methods are highlighted for calming and inspiring
        our minds. When both the mind and intellect are filled with love
        and inspiration, the mind naturally becomes focused and
        concentrated. Such a mind – calm, peaceful, and single-pointed
        – is essential for meditation. The mind, being a constant flow of
        thoughts, transforms the awareness of objects into thoughts.
        When objects no longer occupy the mind, what remains is pure
        Consciousness.
        The Body

        With this brief understanding of the preparation for meditation,
        let us meditate together.
          Keep your body steady. If you can sit on the ground, use a
