Swamiji, when someone is facing one of the most critical
stages of their life, how can they avoid the burden of
questioning whether they have done the right thing?
During my final year of school, my teacher gave me advice
that left a lasting impression. He encouraged me to aim high and
strive for excellence. One day, he said, “On the day before your
examination, I don’t want to see you studying; I want to see you in
a movie theatre!”
While he didn’t mean this literally, his message was clear:
prepare so thoroughly that by the time the exam arrives, you can
feel relaxed and confident, knowing you’ve done your best – so
much so that you could even enjoy a movie without any anxiety.
Master the Moment!
Thorough preparation is essential in all aspects of life, regardless
of what we are engaged in. It is this preparation that cultivates
self-assurance. When we lack confidence or are unprepared,
imaginary fears about the future creep in, giving us endless
worries: What will the test be like? What if the paper is too
hard? What if I can’t perform well?
These anxieties can be alleviated by shifting our attention to
the present and focusing on what we can do in the moment.
Concentrating on the tasks at hand frees us from concerns about
the future. The key lies in seizing the moment and utilizing
the opportunity we have right now to prepare ourselves fully.
Mother! Learn to leave more
and more judgments and
GEETA GROUP decisions to the grown-up children
Chennai 600 017 themselves. Make them self-
confident and self-assertive.
