In particular, you have graciously bestowed upon me this
human birth – a body that is difficult to obtain even for celestial
beings.
In this human birth, we can achieve any goal we desire.
It is a field for spiritual practice – sädhana dhäma. Whether in
the material world, or in education, art, science, commerce, or,
most importantly, the spiritual realm – all are possible here.

we cannot adequately thank you for a single act of kindness. Yet,
I humbly ask for one more grace.
Every gift from the Lord is invaluable. We are able to
breathe, though sometimes even that becomes difficult. We
sleep, we wake up, and we are able to see everything around us.
How can we ever describe all these wonders? This human life is
truly special because only in it can we attain the Supreme.
Everyone wishes us a happy birthday, but if you ask them how
to make a day truly happy, they cannot answer. I reflected on
this and realized that the best way to make a birthday – our own
or someone else’s – truly happy is through tattva cintana – inquiry
into the Truth. We should devote time to contemplating these
questions: What is the Truth? What is the meaning of life and
death? What is the purpose of my existence? This inquiry should
be accompanied by näma smaraëa – remembrance of God’s
name. With the name comes the Lord’s form, His qualities,
deeds, divine play, and stories – everything comes together.
